You read that right, CAKE. This cake is so easy ... it's pretty much a piece of cake. Get it??
What you need:
1 box Angel Food Cake
1 box cake mix (any flavor you like)
1 Large Ziplock bag
1/3 c measuring cup
2-3 tbspns water
mug
Empty both boxes of cake mix into the zip lock bag. Seal close. Shake. Measure out 1/3 c of mix. Add 2-3 tbspns of water, mix and microwave for 1 minute. You now have some fluffy delicious cake! Woo woo!
Some of the best flavors to try this with are spice cake mix and I've even used strawberry. Both were fantastic. I would discourage using yellow cake mix or white cake mix. This does make a lot of mix and will last you a while.
Also, your mug will be very hot. Sometimes it's best to turn the mug upside down and dump your cake in a bowl. Adding fresh fruit and fat free cool whip is always a good bonus too!
If you are on Weight Watchers the cake will cost you 4 Points+.
Enjoy!

Slow-Cookin' BBQ Chicken REVIEW
Taken from the HG 1-2-3 Cookbook
1 c canned tomato sauce
1/2 c ketchup
2 tbspn brown sugar
2 tbspn cider vinegar
2 tspn garlic powder
1 1/2 lbs raw skinless boneless chicken
Mix everything but the chicken in your crock pot. Add chicken, coat with sauce. Put the lid on the crock pot and cook on low 7-8 hours (until chicken is cooked). Pull out chicken, shred, put back in crock pot and coat with sauce. Serves 7.
OMG. Let me say it again. OMG. This recipe is amazing! It's great on a roll, in a wrap, on a salad or just by itself. The sauce it great and this recipe really hits the spot. Plus, it's super easy! Measure, mix and let it cook. It really doesn't get easier.
I do like to add a little extra brown sugar to the recipe.
Makes great leftovers too!

Honey Mustard Pretzel Coated Chicken REVIEW
RECIPE LINK
Ok, I have to admit. I was really skeptical on this one guys. I mean ... pretzels for a coating?? Let me tell you, it's awesome! Good crunch and the mustard flavoring hits the spot. I don't even like mustard!?!
The trick on this one is to definitely let the chicken soak longer than the suggested 10 minutes. I played with the recipe and found out that 24 hours is too long. You never know unless you try, right?? I would say, put the chicken in the fridge in a plastic bag with the marinade when you leave for work. If you're not a huge mustard person, the 10 minutes might just be about right for you.
This recipe is a must store. Meaning - keep it on hand. It's fast, it's easy and most of all ... It's really not that bad for you.
Speaking of storing ... this one doesn't make good leftovers. The good news is, you can always whip up another batch quickly.
Enjoy!

My Quest for Domestication ...
For 2012 I decided one of the things I wanted to do was to become more domestic. Cooking has never been easy for me. This year I'm going to try though.
I decided to shampoo the carpets today so I am currently trapped in the kitchen.
I guess it's time to make the best of things.
