Punkin Hits the Kitty Lottery

Every morning when Punkin hears our voices she comes barreling up the stairs. She then paces around the bed like a baby shark meowing for breakfast.

As you can imagine, I was done with this "behavior" the first weekend. The cat has never skipped a meal and she has a belly to prove it.

My solution was simple: buy an automatic feeder that dispenses at times that we designate.  Not only does it dispense food when we say, but we can also tell it how much to dispense and record our voices to call her to the feeder.

Over the top? Probably. Has it worked? So far.

Today we gave it a test run. Punkin sat patiently in front of her feeder waiting for her 8 o' clock dispensary or goodies. She sat in front of it and watched the food drop out and I imagine that if she were able to talk she would have said, "WEEEEEEEEE." She sat up tall and once it was finished she looked into the bowl and then had the saddest look on her face.

Sweetie thinks she was sad it wasn't more food. I think she was sad because she thought she hit the lottery but only received fish shaped food instead that smells like icky tuna. Either way, she was thoroughly disappointed.

I suppose only time will tell how this new "toy" works for our family.

To be continued ...
